Foreclosure filings in Big Bear were up 10% in October 2009 when compared to the previous month. Year over year, foreclosure filings were up 70% from the October 2008 numbers. New notices of sale shot up in October, showing that banks are still moving forward on foreclosures, while new notices of default and Trustee sales remained relatively the same. In order to know where we are going as a real estate market, it is important to see where we have been in the past. Without running the numbers and creating the foreclosure charts below, it would be impossible to really forecast what is coming down the pike in Big Bear.
