There are several ways to answer this question.
From a seller’s standpoint, the first four months of the year are the slowest for real estate sales in Big Bear. But, there is also less competition on the market during these months, which means there are less homes for buyers to choose from. It is always a good thing for sellers whenever you have less competition, even if these are fewer buyers out there. So, I’d say the best time to sell in Big Bear is going to be earlier in the year.
As for buyers, the best time to buy a home in Big Bear is when the options are plentiful. And that typically occurs during the middle to latter part of the year. For instance, we had about 900 homes for sale this past August and we have about 650 now. While there may be fewer buyers out there looking now, which means less competition, there are also fewer properties to pick from. Personally, I think the best time to buy a home in Big Bear will fall in the June to December time frame.
That’s my opinion, what’s yours?
